Bekonscot Model Village - Raising more than £4 million for charity since 1929

24th December 2008

Welcome to Bekonscot Model Village

We are now closed and will reopen at 10.00 a.m. on Saturday 14th February 2009.

Welcome to the world-famous Bekonscot Model Village and Railway, the world's oldest model village. We are located in Beaconsfield, Bucks, just off the M40 and M25 motorways and minutes by car or train from Central London. This unique piece of England's heritage continues to delight and fascinate both children and adults  theres so much to see!

***STOLEN FROM BEKONSCOT*** - our entrance sign has been stolen.  We desperately need it back.  We urge people in Beaconsfield to keep a look out for it. If you have (it's huge!) please contact us urgently. Can you help? More info is here.

Time has stood still for 75 years, portraying rural England as it was in the 1930s
Bekonscot is different from other model villages; this is an entire miniature kingdom stuck firmly in an idyllic 1930s timewarp. There are six little villages in a 1 acre miniature landscape of farms and fields, castles and churches, woods, lakes and rolling hills. Walking around, youll tower over the tiny population enjoying the fun of the fair, beaches, zoo and tramway, or lazily watching the cricket on the village green. Each village is linked by one of Britain's largest public outdoor model garden railways. Find us with Sat Nav - postcode HP9 2PL.

Bekonscot was created in 1929 as the hobby of one man, Roland Callingham. Since then, all our profits have gone to charity and 5,000,000 (at today's rates) has been distributed thanks to our 13 million visitors.  In 2004, we celebrated our 75th anniversary as the worlds original Model Village.
